The twenty works in the show are the winners and finalists of the I Painting Contest that took place at the BIC in October. You can now visit the exhibition of the finalists of the I Painting Contest “Palmeral de Orihuela”. The exhibition, located in the temporary exhibition hall of the Interpretation Center, has about twenty high-quality works that show different places and visions of the Asset of Cultural Interest.<\/p>\n

The contest, held last October, was a great success, with some forty artists participating in it, mainly from the Valencian, Andalusian, Murcian and Castilian-Manchegan communities. So much so, that the mayor of the Environment, Guillermo C\u00e1novas, has assured, at the official opening of the exhibition, that “there will be a second edition of this contest that I hope will have a greater number of participants.”<\/p>\n

C\u00e1novas has taken the opportunity to congratulate the artists, some of them present, and, especially, the winners, the first prize Blai Tom\u00e1s Ib\u00e1\u00f1ez, the second prize, Juan Gallego and the two third prizes: Fuensanta del R\u00edo and R\u00e1ul Ib\u00e1\u00f1ez . He also wanted to thank the company Act\u00faa Servicios y Medio Ambiente \u201cfor the good work they are carrying out in the maintenance of the Palm Grove and, of course, for their involvement in this event as its sponsor. I hope it will be for the second edition as well. And also my thanks to the Orihuela School of Higher Art and Design, the EASDO, who always participate in as many activities as required by the City Council and have done so in it as part of the jury”, indicated the mayor of the Environment.<\/p>\n

The inauguration was attended by the technical director of Act\u00faa and the technical director of Palmeral maintenance, Daniel Puchol and Ruth Vel\u00e1zquez, respectively, as well as the director of the Orihuela School of Higher Arts and Design (EASDO), Juan Jos\u00e9 P\u00e9rez, accompanied by the teacher from that same center, Ana Cant\u00f3. All of them were part of the jury.<\/p>\n

They have also spoken at the opening of the exhibition, Daniel Puchol and Juan Jos\u00e9 P\u00e9rez. Act\u00faa’s technical director stated that “it has been a pleasure to be able to collaborate with this important cultural and environmental activity, committing to sponsor the second edition”. For his part, P\u00e9rez said he was “delighted to collaborate with as many artistic actions as are carried out in Orihuela and, of course, in the Palmeral”.<\/p>\n

The exhibition will remain until the end of May and the works are for sale in case anyone is interested in purchasing any of them, and cannot be withdrawn until the end of the show.<\/p>\n<\/div>
